About me
Born in Osi, a small town in north-central part of Nigeria, not so much is available in the way of exposure but what I had was enough to keep me pushing forward in the journey of life. It was the belief that academic excellence was the surest means to attain financial freedom, live a good life and all I have ever wanted to achieve in life was lifting my family out of penury. I held on tenaciously to this belief all through my secondary school years. But as I grew older, read wider and went further in my education, my perspective about what really matters got widened and I began to realize that not only my vision was too insignificant, it was also limiting. I do not want to merely improve my family welfare like most of the more privileged Nigerians do, a disposition that has largely contributed to the greater disparity in living standards in our society. I do not want to be part of this, I want something more significant like: how can I help to create more employment in Nigeria? How can I be part of a process to change the story of Sub-Sahara Africa sub-continent from being one of the most poverty-stricken regions of the world to a place where life is more promising and super-conducive for business investment opportunities? How can I use my skills to help the world become a better place? It is this vision of mine that inspired me to pursue a bachelor’s degree of Economics in university as the main theme of the discipline is essentially about the allocation of scarce resources for promoting economic development.
My teaching is based on this personal objective as I seek to make the students see the bigger picture and what really matters with outmost enphasis on enhancing their analytical and problem-solving skills.
