About me
I am an accomplished tutor with a vast knowledge of music theory and practice. So, I am passionate about my subject, Music. Being very much aware of the importance of child development and human psychology , excellent communication skills and diversified methodology are indispensible in the teaching and learning process. Over the years, I have tutored and still tutor learners from different cultural backgrounds such as South Africa, The United States of America, The United Kingdom, Lebanon, Bangladesh and China.
I consider each learner as an individual, unique in their own way and, so, always adopt an individualized approach in tutoring and mentoring them. So, I do not just teach the lesson, but the learner. Over the years, I have worked with and learnt from several supervisors who also mentored me. Some of them include John Todd (United Kingdom), Howard Bullock (United Kingdom), Anthony Nowakoski (Poland), Stevenson (New Zealand), among others. My experience with them has, over the years, increased my inter-cultural awareness.
I aim at helping learners to discover and develop their musical talents. Currently, I train and conduct choirs and orchestras and also prepare learners for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) London and The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) graded examinations. I am conversant and do employ the “Google Classroom” and also “Zoom” in teaching my learners. I specialize in piano, musical keyboard, clarinet, violin, recorder flute and voice. To me, music is not just a subject but an art of expression in an individual’s own creative and unique way.
I am conversant with the global best practices in music. My flare is not just for music but also for writing, dance, drama and poetry. With a creative and dynamic approach to teaching and learning, my learners (young and adult clients), get to enjoy exciting musical experience as they learn to choose or create their own musical styles and so improve their musical abilities. I am willing to adapt to necessary styles, methods or perspectives in order to create learning for my clients, so as to give them the best of services and exceed their expectations.
