About me
As a graduate of Chemical Engineering, I have a very strong interest in teaching and tutoring students spanning from my time as an undergraduate student. With more than 5 years’ teaching experience as both Mathematics and Further Mathematics teacher, in various states of Nigeria including but not limited to Osun, Edo and Ogun States, I have a diverse background with much to offer. I have become an expert at commanding students’ attention and managing small and large classrooms. My careful preparation of lessons allows me to break down complicated concepts to simple real-life application concepts that my young students can grasp and relate with, which has always been immensely rewarding for both my students and for me. I strongly prioritize critical thinking and creativity, skills that I encourage with assignments and lesson plans and take great pride in. My students are well known for their outstanding performances and constant distinction grades in various local, national and international examinations and competitions they participate in. Examples include:
• Most of my students have 8 or more distinctions in NECO, BECE and WAEC exams • My students get 300+ score in UTME exams • I have trained many students who went on to get 1500+ on the SAT and perfect score of 800 on the SAT Subject Test Mathematics Level 2
• Students with perfect scores on the IGSCE
• My students boast of 310+ scores on the GRE
• My students have consistently won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in various competitive national and international competitions such as the American Mathematics Competition, Pan African Mathematics Olympiad, Kangourou Sans Frontieres Mathematics Competition and South African Mathematics Olympiad (AMC, PAMO, KSF and SAMO respectively)
• My students regularly perform excellently at the Cowbellpedia Mathematics competition, often representing Ogun State at the national level. One of them won the award for the Best student in Mathematics in Nigeria in the 2018 Cowbellpedia Mathematics Competition (Junior Category).
