About me
I am a first degree holder from the University of Lagos in Mathematics (ed). My two-year post-graduate diploma program in Planning, Research and Statistics has gone a long way to put me in the right stead as a teacher of repute. In order to be well positioned to cater for the needs of my students, I had to obtain a master’s degree honor in Statistics. Along with the full complement of having taught mathematics and additional mathematics in notable schools for over twenty years using the Nigerian and the British National Curricular, I am a certified IGCSE teacher of mathematics.
My degrees have trained me to cover the National Curriculum of Nigeria, Britain and USA at this level and my subject areas are Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Physics.
My time in school and my experience as a teacher have developed my philosophy of valuing each child as an individual as well as part of a community. I am also of the school of taught that if a child is not enjoying what he or she is learning, he or she will hardly comprehend what has being taught. Fortunately, I possess the ability to achieve a sensible work-leisure balance. In doing this, I try to create a warm and sensitive class- environment mixed with a good sense of humor. I aim to give students as many learning opportunities and experiences as possible in order to engage, motivate and prepare them for challenges of future life. I also have the ability of remaining positive and enthusiastic when working under pressure. I am confident that my qualifications and experience will benefit the students and your organization.

Mathematics - details about teaching experience:
Basically, I have adopted a progressive approach of teaching my students. This requires skillful questioning of students by me, rather than placing undue reliance on direct instructions. For example, in teaching solid shapes, I might ask “How could we work out the height of the Great Pyramid at Giza?” The purpose of that questioning is to encourage the minds of the learners to understand, to arrange, and to act on the material with which they are required to engage.
Further Mathematics - details about teaching experience:
I make sure that in introducing each new topic I refer to any earlier work that will be used. For example, it is going to hold up my lesson on probability if some of the students have forgotten how to multiply or add fractions. So, it is important to do a quick revision on fraction first.

My approach to teaching and learning is structured, cumulative and multi-sensory and I hope to use a wide range of tried and tested resources. I am passionate about meeting the needs of all my students regardless of their ability. I believe that every student has a gift and it is our responsibility to discover that gift and nurture it.
