About me
I am graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University ile Ife. I studied mechanical engineering and finished with second class upper division. From experience, I have come to understand that students get to understand faster when engaged in a private, one to one tutorship. I believe this can be traced to the customised and tailor made attention and explanation being offered to the respective student. We all learn at different paces and individual has specific way of getting to understand calculation problems like mathematics. A lot of students just need a private push to get them going smoothly in their normal school work or get successfully prepared for examination. Private tutorship takes good care of one of the ancient limitations and disadvantages of the four wall classroom approach to teaching, which is trying to use one stone to kill twenty birds. That is, trying to use one approach to reach out to different brain compositions This is like engaging a bulldozer and a sport car to move at the same speed, and hence try to judge their potential base on their speed limit. Really, both have different potentials to attain the same goal. While a sport car may focus on plying the tarred but long road, a bulldozer can choose to create a shorter way of getting to the same destination at the same or shorter time. But in class the teacher has to follow one way laid down by the curriculum hence jeopardizing the potential of any student whose own style is not in alignment. Private tutoring greatly handle this, enabling each student to learn at his/her own pace and style.
