About me
I have been teaching mathematics for over four years. I have had the privilege to work with students of all ages and abilities. My teaching experience has taught me that there is no one “right” way to teach mathematics. Each student is unique and requires a different approach to learning. I have also learned that effective teaching requires a deep understanding of the Mathematics being taught. I believe that my teaching experience has prepared me to be an effective mathematics educator.
I believe that my teaching experience has given me the ability to effectively communicate mathematical concepts. I have learned how to present information in a way that is accessible to all students. I am also familiar with a variety of instructional strategies and technologies that can be used to support student learning. My teaching method is problem-solving methods.
The problem-solving method places the focus on the student making sense of mathematical ideas. When solving problems students are exploring mathematics within a problem context rather than as an abstract.
It encourages students to believe in their ability to think mathematically. They will see that they can apply the math that they are learning to find the solution to a problem.
