About me
I am an alumnus of University of Jos and earned my Bachelor and Master of Arts degree certificates in English Language as well as Master of Arts degree in Literature in English from Nasarawa State University Keffi and Ph.D Literature in English (in view) from Federal University of Lafia. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, certificates in Start Fiction Writing, Media and Information Literacy from The Open University UK and National Open University of Nigeria respectively.
I have taught English Language and Literature in English since 2015 at both Institute of Education, University of Abuja and National Teachers’ Institute Nyanya Gbagi Study Centre and had been a consultant on Gender Impact under the auspices of the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Nasarawa and Zamfara States. Besides the aforementioned qualifications and career antecedents, I have been an internationally published poet and have also authored an academic text with notable Makurdi-based publishers as well as a book reviewer/literary critic with a United States-based online book club. I have contributed to seven reputable journal publications and one conference presentation.
During my engagement at Nasarawa State Ministry of Education (2000 - present), University of Abuja (part time, 2014-2020) and at National Teachers’ Institute (2019-Present), I have taught courses encompassing English Language and Literary Studies such as: General English Studies, Intermediate English Composition, Advanced English Composition, Creative writing, Structure, Introduction to Poetry, African Literature, Nigerian Literature among others. These experience have provided me with a broad view that is very useful in assisting students towards sustaining a durable line of thought in communication either in voice or in pen. It also has a tremendous influence on my confidence and interest in teaching and I look forward bringing it to bear on my job description at any institution or individual where my service is engaged
