About me
My name is Oluwamayowa Ogundipe, I'm an outstanding Nigerian with an unquenchable thirst and unimaginable enthusiasm to pursue a long-life musical career as a Teacher and a Performer.
I have remarkably worked hard to get both academic and practical knowledge in my chosen field of study, and I do not doubt that this will prepare me greatly into achieving more success as a Music Instructor.
In pursuit of a sound musical career, I applied and was awarded a two-year scholarship to study Music at the Musical Society of Nigeria (Muson School of Music) as a Trumpet Major under the tutelage of a Retired. Major Enesi Salawu. Over my two years of study, I took the Theory of Music exam and passed successfully in Grade 8 of the ABRSM's Theory of Music examination and also passed in the Grade 8 Trumpet examination of the same board. I graduated successfully in 2019 with a Diploma in Music and with decorated awards as the best student in Trumpet performance.
I have held the position of the Principal Trumpet player in the Divine Symphony Orchestra, an Outstanding Church Orchestra sponsored by Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles ministries. I have served actively and charitably as the brass instrumental instructor of this group for 7 years and I have made several local and international trips with the Orchestra, one of which include the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival in South Africa. I performed as the Principal Trumpet with the festival concert Orchestra in South Africa in 2016 and this allowed me to watch and perform with some of the World's finest Performers including Bill Ray Hunter (principal of the Metropolitan Opera and the Trumpet Professor at the Manhattan School of Music, New York) also Weston Sprout the Principal Trombone of the MET Opera. Jeff Nelson, of the Canadian Brass, Ferdinand Steiner, and Daniel Rowland to mention a few, and this has been one of the greatest influences on my Music career which I had the opportunity to learn in advanced Chamber Music, Concert and Symphony Orchestra, Brass Quintet, Wind and Brass Ensemble, and many more.
With over 10 years of Musical experience in Teaching, Performing, educating, and Coaching, I have been able to consistently give back to my Community and contribute largely to young Musicians in Nigeria.
With a wide range of Musical knowledge in Orchestra Music, Band Music, Brass and Woodwind Ensemble, Chamber Music, and Choir. I have given masterclasses and taught Music students at the Mountain Top University (MTU), and Lagøs State University (Lasu). I have contributed hugely to the Music Program in the above-mentioned Faculty of Music.
I have trained so many young Music students in Nigeria. I have prepared students for Professional Music exams like the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. London (ABRSM) I have prepared countless students for Music Recital Performances and Competitions and my students always come out Outstandingly.
