I am a certified music teacher and music therapist. My qualifications include: International certification in music therapy, special need education specialist, Diploma in Child Psychology, Certificate in Nordorff Robbins Approach to Music Therapy, Grade 5 Music Theory, Trinity College, London, Special Education Need Certificate (Reedcourses), NCE Music Double Major, College of Education, Ekiadolor, Edo State, Music Diploma, Akioya Music School, Edo State, B.Ed Accounting, University of Benin, Edo State, Associate Accounting Technician (AAT), Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) etc.
I have taught music in regular school settings and schools for special needs. My ability to play more than 5 music instruments create options for me to choose from and improvise during sessions.
MUSIC SKILLS
I have the ability to effortlessly play diverse chord progressions on the guitar to accompany a song.
Ability to play I, IV, V chord progressions on the keyboard/piano to accompany a song.
Ability to accompany a song using guitar and piano/keyboard and lead a group while singing.
Good vocal proficiency (ie., ability to sing in time, in tune and in tempo). Good tone.
Ability to transpose songs to meet clients’ vocal range.
Ability to compose songs or simple arrangements.
Ability to improvise, utilizing rhythmic instruments, guitar, piano, voice and/or keyboard or other primary instrument.
CLINICAL SKILLS
Ability to assess, observe and document a client’s mood, affect, behavior and responses to music interventions.
Ability to document a client’s progress during Music Therapy sessions.
Excellent session planning skills, meeting group and individual needs.
